Logic & Rhetoric School Teacher
Andrew Helms teaches Latin & Rhetoric Medieval Humanities at GCCA. Growing up in Fort Worth, TX, Dr. Helms received a classical education which ignited an interest in studying philosophy and literature from a Christian worldview. He studied at Union University, Texas A & M University, and University of Notre Dame, receiving his doctorate in 2016 in medieval philosophy. Dr. Helms has taught several humanities and philosophy courses at Holy Cross College, Notre Dame, and at the University of Texas at San Antonio, including Medieval World and Medieval Philosophy, Ethics, and World Religions.
In his free time, Dr. Helms reads, plays team trivia, plays violin, and takes long bike rides in the hill country. He is married to AmyRose, who has degrees in vocal pedagogy and sacred music, and loves to bake fresh bread. They are members at Grace Bible Church in Granbury, TX. Together they are raising a lively, independent bunny named Beatrix.
