Firmly Rooted Hope
“May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” - Colossians 1: 11-14
As believers, we can have strength to endure the difficult seasons, including this pandemic, because our hope is not based on earthly comforts. Our health is not our hope. Our money is not our hope. Our activities and schedule are not our hope. Our friends and social life are not our hope.
Our hope is firmly rooted in the love of God for us through Christ Jesus, which can never fail, regardless of how drastically our circumstances may shift.
May we give the Lord thanks today, remembering that as we call on Him, He will strengthen us with all endurance and patience with joy.
May He give us the grace to rest in the unshakable hope that our past is forgiven, our present is settled in the Kingdom of Christ, and our future is secure with the guarantee of a glorious inheritance that is to come.
What an amazing opportunity we have in this unprecedented moment in time to powerfully experience the “peace that passes understanding” as we lean on the fact that, because of our hope in Christ, we truly have nothing to fear!
