Welcome, Dr. Andrew Helms!

We're excited to announce the addition of our new Upper School Humanities & Latin Teacher, Dr. Andrew Helms!

Growing up in Fort Worth, TX, Andrew received a classical education which ignited an interest in studying philosophy and literature from a Christian worldview. Andrew studied at Union University, Texas A & M University, and University of Notre Dame, receiving his doctorate in 2016 in medieval philosophy. Andrew has taught several humanities and philosophy courses at Holy Cross College, Notre Dame, and at the University of Texas at San Antonio, including Medieval World and Medieval Philosophy, Ethics, and World Religions.

In his free time, Andrew reads, plays team trivia, plays violin, and takes long bike rides in the hill country. Some favorite authors are Geoffrey Chaucer, Edmund Spenser, Flannery O’Connor, and C. S. Lewis. Andrew is married to AmyRose, who has degrees in vocal pedagogy and sacred music, and loves to bake fresh bread. Together they are raising a lively, independent bunny named Beatrix.

We're thankful to welcome Dr. and Mrs. Helms to the Grace Classical Christian Academy family!
